A rather nice surprise.
Thank you so much, whoever you were.

No-one leaves me flowers. No-one buys me flowers. No-one even steals flowers for me. Ever.
However my black cat does bring me leaves from the neighbour's pampas grass which he somehow manages to wrap round his body and drag through the cat flap.
I'm sad for you and surprised at the same time, don't tell me you never received a bunch of flowers. Not even from your husband in all those years of marriage??
I really don't know why and how that flower got there. I was not sure it was for me so I left it inside, on the staircase. I found it where I had left it when I got back home in the evening, so I kept it. It's in the water now, but I will dry it so I can keep it as a souvenir.
I have 'stolen' & given flowers to boys/men, it is worth seeing how the gesture surprises them. The nicest ones are those you cut in the fields, though. But that time was so long ago...
As for the last bunch I bought and brought to a man, you should have seen his face... and the "vase" I had to put them into all by myself. Whether he was confused, embarrassed or flattered, I'll never know. He didn't even bother receiving it properly, I guess the thornes were all he really deserved...
I was a regular receiver of flowers and hope to be one again, and i also surprised my husband once with a nice bouquet. Once he got over the initial surprise he did say it made a nice change.
Heartfelt welcome, GTaET! It is indeed a nice change from the usual for men. After all, they like surprises too, don't they?!
There's no reason why you wouldn't be a regular receiver again and I also hope to receive flowers again.
I would be glad with just a thistle, a poppy or a shamrock.
You see... I'm not a demanding woman.
I don't believe it. He bought me a dozen roses (and a bunch of lilies). Gave me them this evening cos I'm out most of the day tomorrow.
It's made me a bit nervous.
He bought me some daffodils when I had Theo, but he kept them at home and by the time I was let out of hospital they were dead.
aw that's lovely. see! romance lives. Hmmm i may just go out and buy myself some flowers and pretend someone gave them to me. Might actually be a shock for the estranged husband when he turns up on friday to see my house festooned with flowers from a secret admirer. Or is that just really sad??
See Kissme, anything can happen... I told you, you have a terrific husband!!
Not sad at all, GTaET, rather a brilliant idea. Flowers from a secret to him admirer... I would have a bunch delivered at your place if I could, you sure deserve our admiration. You are doing fine lately and it is a great pleasure to have you in our blogging family, as DQ would say.
