the Greek alphabet for wishful thinking.

Well Dip Dop, I gather you were acquainted to the Greek alphabet during your early classical studies!
Our letter Bêta is not a B, like in the Latin alphabet. It is a V. So bêta should be read "vita". (Β-β like in βιβλίο - vivlio, book)
The sound B exists in the Greek language, it is made by the combination of the letter M and P (ΜΠ, μπ like in μπουκάλι- boukali, bottle).
Anyway, let's hope the bêta version is indeed a better one. Here is a discussion in French about this topic: à propos de bêta
(Premier souci: parvenir à signer et publier mes propres commentaires sans trop m'énerver!! J'en suis à la ennième tentative déjà...)

Décidément... rien ne va plus!!
And I thought you were perfect already. . .
Things haven't changed much with this new version and I decided not to modify my template. So far, I only have trouble signing & posting my comments.
DQ, I'm still far from being perfect...
The end is nigh! At least I can now sign into Google. It happened to another friend- Zinnia Cyclamen and what I'm concerned about is how do they force you:(
And how can one see the difference?
Well Pat, there was a warning saying something like 'you will only be allowed to log in with blogger one more and last time, the next one will have to be with blogger bêta". So if you want to go on with your blog, you have no other choice than to follow their instructions. You must then create a google account, using an existing e-mail address which you use to log in afterwards. I can't post and sign comments easily ever since, maybe the problem is temporary, I don't know.
Anyway, you can take 'the bêta tour' (see somewhere on the start page http://www.blogger.com/start)and see what more you can do with it. It's supposed to be better and easier to handle but they warn you some of your data could be definitevely lost when you make changes to your template. So I'd rather not modify anything... I have enough trouble as it is!!
The appearance of your blog doesn't change automatically, it will remain the same if you leave things as they are, only the way of logging will change.
Now let's see how long it will take before my comment is saved...
M thank you for your reassurance and I've done it and all seems to be well. I found the comments strange at first but I'm nothing if not dogged and it's AOK!
