May I remind you the sales will end soon, there are only a couple of days left for you to acquire whatever you need or wish at a more reasonable price.
Bargains are still waiting for you, such as the €86,50 digital camera I bought yesterday. I also got a digital voice tracker to use at the choir rehearsals and a steam iron which, hopefully, will make me hold ironing in a higher esteem. Oh, and an optical mouse too.... Don't ever think I am a greedy person, these are but useful things I actually needed.
This is a part of the Brussels scenery I can enjoy from my rear window. Nice view, isn't it? I invite you to read The Damn Architect by the exquiste Daphne Wayne-Bough to learn more about the magnificent Palais de Justice you can see on the left.
I didn't take the time to carefully read the instructions for use yet but managing to take a first shot and downloading it on my PC without any trouble prove that my brand new camera is rather easy to use.
So far, I can say that it is great value for money. The quality of the picture is pretty good and I look forward to discovering all the possibilities this apparatus has to offer and to sharing some of the best results with you, right here.
The funny thing is that a part of the school I used to frequent as a teenager is pictured here, at the front bottom. Ages ago, under that very roof, I took some photography classes. I must say I haven't forgotten my teacher and most of the tips I had learned at the time. There were no digital cameras back then and taking a perfect shot was quite a challenge.
Nowadays, everything is achieved by simply pressing a button and I intend to use my new 'tech-toys' a lot. Which reminds me that I have become an e-addict and should immediately stop writing and think of pressing the washing machine's start button instead, before giving the new iron a try.
High technology is all around and I wonder what it would be like if human beings could also be controlled by various buttons. Let us hold our breath while Goth is about to introduce us to his new Creature. Will it be a contribution to finally making this world a better place, Master?
Meantime, OFF with this, and ON with the rest, just hoping I will obey my own orders...

Congrats on your new purchase. I will expect to see some fancy pants new pictures on your site (*jealous*).
Thanks, DQ, but you shouldn't be jealous. You know my age and it's the first camera I can call my own, so it was about time.
Fancy pants?! I'm not sure I understand what exactly you mean here. Anyway, I'm ready for candid photography, so many funny things happen around us every day!
I understand why a digital camera, voice tracker and optical mouse maybe useful - and desirable.
But I don't get the steam iron purchase......
Yes, yes, ok I'm a total slob.
Kissme, I must be a total slob too. I managed half the laundry but didn't even unpack the iron yet and hopefully, I will take the time to read the user manual before using the voice tracer tomorrow evening...
Am I the only person who didn't get any further than the phrase "front bottom" in the post?
Perhaps I should stop watching re-runs of "Men Behaving Badly"!
Oh hello, Lynx, heartfelt welcome back to Brussels. I'm deeply honoured by your comment, thank you so much. So sorry I missed your departure last week, I arrived too late on the platform but nonetheless, I waved farewell with my scarf. As for today, I missed the arrival of your comment by half a minute I think, I had just logged off and left the office.
Don't stop watching your DVDs, Lynx, I had a look at MBB's website, it looks so amusing. Men behaving 'normally', I would say.
I read somewhere "it is tough to be a man in the nineties". Is it any easier nowadays? Oh, and I also read about some episode where a garden shed is turned into a sauna, a 'shedna', that is. I can think of someone who would like to have one of those!!
You are indeed the only person to have spotted the "front bottom", but that's because you must have a very sharp eye, what the French call "un oeil de lynx". Apparently, your nom de plume couldn't be better chosen...
I wasn't aware of the phrase "un oeil de lynx". I will add that to the long list of French phrases that I don't know. My nom de plume is actually my nickname from the local pub back in the UK, and it refers to a tv advert for the male grooming products of this name. If I ever start my own blog, I'll probably explain all.
I seem to be doing quite a good impression of the scarlet pimpernel at the moment, unintentionally I may add. I'm sure you will track me down soon. :-)
I wasn't aware of Lynx (I think it's known as 'Axe' or something over here) being the perfect product to give guys *ahem* serious pulling power... How interesting!!
Don't get me started about blogs... it's great but time consuming and addicting. You see, I had to log in instead of turning in, after having been away from home 15 hours today. Although I'm exhausted, it is a pleasure to take the time to answer to you, among others and I wish I could also visit a couple of friends' blogs but I'm afraid that won't be possible tonight. So, think twice before ever starting your own!
I will add 'a good impression of the scarlet pimpernel' on the long list of English phrases I don't know. The pimpernel is a plant but... what does that expression mean? Sure enough, I will probably track you down very soon :-)
