Silence is golden

The Greek post was a call for a silent demonstration that I received by email. It was about a silent protest, which explains why no comments were allowed. We may not have been able to join in, but we will at least have observed silence for the 6364 victims. I am dismayed by the catastrophy and the aftermath. I wish politicians remembered that words are silver and silence is golden.

It is a real tragedy. In human terms because of the lives and homes destroyed. In political terms because the Greek government were so slow to act and then didn't do much. The real tragedy of course is that some were started on purpose. If I were a cynical man, I'd guess it was property developers trying to clear the land. What a sick way to do business.

Deepest sympathy for the suffering of the Greek people and the damage to this beautiful country.

είμαι ακόμη στο θυμό, αυτό το δράμα δεν είναι μόνο αυτός μιας χώρας! είναι ευρωπαϊκός!
